Do you work with solos?Due to the nature of expedited freight, we only contract with established teams. If you know someone that has a Class A or B CDL, that you could go over the road with, submit your information and we will have a representative call you. They can provide you both with more information and answer any questions.

Do I need a CDL to drive for Hyfield Trucking?Yes, a CDL is required to drive for Hyfield Trucking. You need a Class A or B CDL for straight trucks and a Class A CDL for tractor trailers.

Can I have pets on the truck?Yes! We encourage you to bring along your pets, we know your pets are like family and we love our pets too! There is a $250.00 deposit per pet with a maximum of $500.00. Also a max of 3 pets in the truck. #hyfieldfurbabies

Can I bring a non-CDL passenger with me on the road?While FedEx Custom Critical allows a non-CDL passenger to ride along, our policy requires team driving. Therefore, you cannot bring a non-CDL passenger as all our trucks are designated for team drivers only.

What are the requirements to drive a straight truck for Hyfield Trucking?To drive a 40' straight truck for Hyfield Trucking, you need a Class A or B CDL and must be part of a team, as we do not work with solo drivers. While no experience is required, having hazmat and tanker endorsements is highly encouraged as it opens up more opportunities and increases potential revenue.

How much money can I make in a straight truck?On average, our teams are making between $60k and $75k per driver per year or $120k-$150k per team. This also depends on how hard you want to work. It is a 40/60 split after tolls and fuel surcharge, Hyfield pays for fuel, tolls, and maintenance.

Do I need experience driving?No experience is needed for the straight trucks with FedEx Custom Critical or Panther Premium Logistics.

What is your home time policy for straight trucks?For Straight Trucks: Our home time policy is, if you are out at least 21 days then Hyfield Trucking will pay for the fuel for you to go home up to 300 miles. If you are more than 300 miles away, then you would be charged the difference at cost. Hyfield Trucking does not add any surcharges onto that. Most of our successful teams are out on the road 6-8 weeks at a time.

What is your home time policy for tractor trailer?Our Mega 150" sleeper tractors are 6 weeks out minimum, then a week home. Our smaller custom sleepers are 4 weeks out and a week home. Our Most successful teams stay out 6-8 weeks at a time. Although 6-8 weeks is a long time, these large sleeper tractors are well equipped to keep you comfortable for the time you are out.

What are you requirements for the tractor trailer?Our 110" custom sleeper tractors requires a Class A CDL, one year experience preferred. The Mega 150" sleeper tractors requires a Class A CDL with two years experience preferred. We also encourage having your hazmat/tanker endorsements, and getting your DOD clearance, as these greatly increase revenue and offer more load opportunities.

How much money can I make in a Tractor Trailer?Teams average $85k-$100k per person a year. Hazmat/tanker endorsements put you to the top of that scale and DOD cleared teams are the top earning trucks. While these endorsements are not required, they are strongly encouraged for increased revenue.
